1. Treat people with respect
This is a community for everyone who rides or works on motorcycles - regardless of what they ride, how they ride it, or how long they have been doing it. Personal attacks, harassment, threats, and discrimination of any kind are not tolerated. Disagree with ideas; never attack people.
2. Be honest
Do not post misleading information, impersonate other users or businesses, or misrepresent your experience or qualifications. If you are not sure about something, say so. The community depends on reliable information - especially when it comes to technical advice that could affect safety.
3. Keep content relevant
Posts, comments, and group discussions should relate to motorcycles, riding, maintenance, events, or related topics. Off-topic content, excessive self-promotion, and content that exists purely to drive traffic elsewhere will be removed.
4. No spam
Do not repeatedly post the same content, flood threads with low-effort replies, or use the community to distribute unsolicited commercial messages. Businesses operating on the platform - including garages and traders - may share updates through their official channels, but should not spam individual users.
5. Leave genuine reviews
Reviews of garages and services must reflect your real experience. Do not leave reviews you did not earn (including fake positive reviews of your own business or fake negative reviews of a competitor). MotoHist verifies that reviews are linked to completed bookings - attempting to game this system will result in removal and possible suspension.
6. Respect privacy
Do not share other people's personal information - including names, addresses, phone numbers, or photos - without their permission. This includes screenshots of private conversations. Vehicle records on MotoHist are associated with bikes, not owners: never attempt to identify or expose the owner of a specific vehicle.
7. Ride safe and legal
Do not encourage or celebrate dangerous, reckless, or illegal riding. Content that glorifies speeding in a way that endangers others, riding uninsured, or evading law enforcement is not welcome here. Sharing a spirited track day is fine; encouraging someone to endanger themselves or others on public roads is not.
8. No illegal content
Content that facilitates or promotes illegal activity - including selling stolen vehicles or parts, circumventing emissions or safety equipment, or distributing counterfeit goods - is strictly prohibited and will be reported to the relevant authorities.
9. Respect intellectual property
Only post photos, videos, and written content that you own or have the right to share. If you share someone else's work, credit the source. Do not reproduce copyrighted material in full without permission.
10. Motorcycle clubs
Clubs on MotoHist may establish their own additional community standards to reflect the culture and focus of their group. Club-level guidelines must complement these core guidelines - they can go further, but they cannot override or contradict them. MotoHist's core community guidelines apply to all users in all contexts, including within club spaces.
11. How we enforce these guidelines
Our moderation team reviews reported content and takes action based on the severity and context of each case. Actions range from removing a post or comment to issuing a warning, temporarily restricting an account, or permanently banning a user. We aim to be consistent and proportionate, but reserve the right to make judgement calls in ambiguous situations.

12. Changes to these guidelines
We may update these guidelines as the platform grows. We will notify community members of significant changes. Continuing to use community features after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised guidelines.
